About Us

    We are David and Lynette Mirylees plus Koolan the Golden Retriever, living in one of the most attractive areas of England,   Dorset (on the south coast).

    I am David Mirylees an engineer who is addicted to the Lotus 7 car and have owned one since 1968. The present re-incarnation of the original Lotus is now re-chassied with a 1988 Caterham unit and is powered by a 2.0 litre Ford Zetec engine.  My other car is a rather special and unique Lotus Europa - It must be the best looking Europa ever! (don't believe me? see the "toys").

    Loving the 7 so much I re-started the British club for the marque back in 1981 and have enjoyed the benefits of the organisation ever since.  It's changed a bit but hell, so have the cars! (navigate to my favourite sites page for a link to the clubs site)

    The wife is Lynette Mirylees, the clever lady who runs her own freight forwarding business (British Cargo Services) at the same time looking after the house, the dog - oh, yes, and me.  She's one of those rare breed of women who will not complain of being passenger in a 7 whether it's wet or dry, windy or snowing! (I should mention that I don't even possess a roof for the 7!).

    We love the area and our home and tend to do a lot of walking through this beautiful countryside. We are only 10 miles away from the coast and the seaside town of Weymouth, the scenery and (minor) roads are just wonderful.   However, it does get extremely busy during the tourist season (and so does the house - free B&B to friends and relatives).
